Learning Path

01 / 03

Explore.

Discover the foundations.

The entry path into Big Hero. Students meet mechanisms, motion and logic through hands-on building, and finish able to plan, build and program a working robot.

Program 01

Program One

Build a first working robot through guided mechanics, sensors and block programming.

  1. 01

    Robotics Foundations

16 Sessions / First contact with robotics concepts and teamwork.

    Objectives

    • Introducing basic robotics concepts
    • Develop problem-solving and teamwork
  2. 02

    LEGO Mechanisms

16 Sessions / LEGO mechanisms and the first controlled behaviours.

    Objectives

    • Design mechanical parts that can move
    • Control robots with sensors
  3. 03

    Complete Robot Builds

16 Sessions / Advanced blocks, gears and complete robot builds.

    Objectives

    • Use advanced programming blocks
    • Build line-following and obstacle-avoiding robots

Program 02

Program Two

Move from the first robot to Arduino projects and virtual prototypes.

  1. 01

    Arduino Fundamentals

16 Sessions / Arduino and Tinkercad fundamentals.

    Objectives

    • Understand Arduino and Tinkercad
    • Control LEDs, motors and outputs
  2. 02

    Sensor Automation

16 Sessions / Sensor data capture and automated robot behaviour.

    Objectives

    • Read sensor data
    • Design sensor-based automation
  3. 03

    Project Presentation

16 Sessions / An original project, planned, prototyped and presented.

    Objectives

    • Plan a creative project
    • Present and refine the final project
